Chris is remembered every week when we play Bingo here at Providence House, Assisted Living, where we all lived. His favorite number was 19 and it has been called in every single game for the past two years. That's how we know Chris is still with us. His smiling face and quirky comments will never be forgotten. Still miss you Chris. Ronnie and Elaine

So many fond memories of Chris from all my 30 years coaching football at North. We were such good friends and colleagues. I loved our daily talks in his office, our trips to hockey games together, all the games. His passion and loyalty to the school were unmatched. He was always there for everyone when they needed his help and advice. The kids loved him dearly and will never forget him. My heart goes out to his family and all who treasured him. God bless Chris.

Chris was the kindest people I ever met. He knew all the athletes by name and their latest performances. But Chris did not care about your achievements as an athlete...he cared about you as a person. Chris always greeted you with his big warm smile and asked how you were that day. He was the Tiger Spirit at NNHS.
Chris will be missed dearly.

Providence House will not be the same without you Chris especially Bingo and Blackjack. Your seat was empty today and that's when reality really set in. Up until then I refused to believe I would never again see that great smiling face. Elaine and I would crack up at your funny little side remarks. When you didn't win for a long stretch you would curse in Greek and you were amazed when I understood what you were saying. Thank you for your friendship. You left us too soon and you will be missed. Rest In Peace!

For almost a half a century, Christopher Drakos was a loyal and caring friend to Newton North's Coaches and athletes as equipment and athletic facility manager. He acted with professionalism and passion. His kindness and positive nature elevated those around him.
Chris valued the intense commitment each athlete made. He championed and respected their efforts, whether on the fields, the ice, the hardwood, the pool, or the diamonds. Coaches appreciated his advice, his bonding humor and his philosophical insights, often garnered from his love for the giants of Greek and American History.
The "life blood" of Newton North has been diminished greatly with the passing of "Dr. Drakos." The many of us who were marked and moved by his intense love for our school community say Thank you and God bless you, Chris.
