Some remembrances of Chris-
It was my task to interview Chris for an intern position at the Department of Mental Retardation as he was finishing his degree at Merrimack College. I remember a very quiet, shy young man who clearly was nervous and not sure how to respond to a job interview. Nevertheless there was something about Chris that impressed me and he was hired for the position. In his time as an intern we came to see the real Chris that his initial shyness had hidden. He became one of our team, outgoing, friendly, and genuinely loved by everyone. While training him we nicknamed him "grasshopper" after the Kung Fu TV show character because he was always wanting to learn more and more from his "masters". Chris loved it. After Chris graduated from college our office was looking to hire a full time position, and we all remembered Chris and he was our first choice for the position. We were fortunate to have Chris on our team for several years before he moved on to a position with the "T". These are the memories that I will always keep of Chris - a smart, funny, interesting young man that everyone was fond of. His loss at such a young age is unfathomably. My condolences and wishes for the strength to cope go out to Suzanne, Donna, and the rest of Chris' family.

Chris was a classmate of mine. I'll always remember Chris as a happy, high energy kid, a class act, from a great family. Although we were not the closest of friends, I always admired how he seemed to be involved in everything and he always had a smile on his face. Chris accomplished so much in the time he was given. To Chris' family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have vivid memories of playing soccer with Chris as a kid. He was one of the youngest players on our local team for years...but for being young (and physically smaller) than most of the competition, boy did he tear it up on the field. I remember how much fun he had playing and how is excitement was so contagious. I know that this will carry on with his children and family.

Your Chris fought like a soldier on the battlefield, and he was the bravest. There are no words to describe the sorrow that I feel for all of you.
Find peace in knowing that Chris rests peacefully now in God's hands.
Chris, God Love you, rest peacefully. Find comfort in caring for each other. Heal your heart with all the great memories of those better times in the past years that you've all shared (keep those memories in your heart, and call on them, every time your feel that deep sadness.

I was tasked with starting MassDOT's Monthly Employee Recognition Program during the Spring of 2010. Chris was one of the first six recipients of this monthly award in May 2010. He was a model employee in the MBTA's Construction Unit and was extremely modest and humble. He led by example for all of those who came in contact with him as he fulfilled his duties at the MBTA.
