Connie was my teacher when I was in pre school and one of the best teachers I have ever had. Connie would always push me to do my very best and when I would get lazy she would never let me get away with it. Her and her family became close family friends of my family but over the years we lost contact. I learned of her passing just a few days ago and I'm deeply saddened by this news. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this time.

We met Connie in 1996, as my son's teacher and our guide in the special ed universe, and were lucky to have kept her as a friend. She took great joy in her profession and in her children and her friends, and though her schedule seemed full to bursting, always had time for other people. I have shared some funny talks and times with her; had she stayed with us five times longer, she would never had worn out her welcome. My heartfelt sympathies to her family and loves ones, especially Zak and Emily. Your mom was an extraordinary person; she will always be watching over you. Connie, I will think of you often.

My Condolences to Zach and Emily, Alan and Susan, and everyone in Connie's great extended family. I first met Connie when she taught my son back in 1994. She was his first teacher and a most extraordinary lady in every way. Connie consistently went above and beyond the call of duty, always putting the children first. She was a credit to her profession and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, both her young students and their families. Connie made a tough job look easy because she carried on with dedication, determination and a fine sense of humor. She was humble, honest, and kind.

So many people I have spoken to over the past two weeks have expressed profound regret over the loss of Connie and each and every parent of Connie's students echoes the same commentary about how she took their child under her wing and turned them around, moving them forward. Connie was born to teach and we were all blessed to have the benefit of her gift.

I am grateful that I got to know Connie and shared some fun times with her and her family. She was a loyal and supportive friend, a role model for all of us. The Rabbi spoke well when he said "LLC". We will miss her.

Emily and Zachary -

What an amazing woman your mom was. We will always remember her strength, courage, hope, and determination. Though is was cut too short, she lived her life to the fullest. This earth has lost an amazing woman, but Emily and Zach, know that you will always have a very special angel watching over you from above.

Dear Emily, Zachary, Jim and family,

How sorry I was to come back to work (@ MGH) last night and find out about your mom. I prayed for you at all the churches in Ireland.

The 4th of July was important and that she see the fireworks with all of you. I'll always remember Allan and about the tape on the wall. There was love and humor all around you.

We were in the nurse's station last night and we said what a wonderful family you all are.

I'll continue to pray. Keep your mom in your heart Emily and Zachary. I'll never forget how you got the pillow from home for your mother. What a loving and thoughtful thing to do !!

Love, Linda Ryan--nurse from Phillips House 22

Dear Zach and Emily,

Your mom was a wonderful and remarkable lady. She was always a fighter and not letting anything stand in her way. I loved her spirit and she will not be forgotten. She has left an impression on all those who have met her and to be so lucky to know both of you. Your mom raised both of you well and she will always be looking out for you. Do take care of each of other and remember she will love you forever. Zach, I am glad I got to talk with you at the Wakefield Relay. I am proud to have known your mother and know that our paths will cross again. Love from Jeannie, Abigail and Quincy King

We were so blessed to have Connie as one of our very dearest friends. She was such an inspiration to us and a joy to have in our lives. Imagining life without Connie to share it with at the moment seems quite impossible, she was our shining star, but we will have the pleasure of Zachary and Emily in our lives to keep her light bright. We love all of you more than words can say, you have all brought so much of all things good into our lives that we will be forever grateful for. We will keep Connie's legacy strong by sharing in the lives of her children whom we love so very much and always will. May you now rest in peace our sweet angel, you will always be in our hearts, remembering your message: "Life is Good".

Love always, Connie & John

Connie was my cousin but more importantly, my friend. We grew up together on Long Island and I have so many sweet memories of little Connie and Kenny in happier times.

Connie touched so many lives with her warmth and caring. Her courage and will to live life to it's fullest is an inspiration to us all. She never gave up her battle and was always so optimistic and positive. The sweetness of her children gave her the appreciation of every minute with them. Zach and Emily have a Mom that lived her life with pride, dignity, grace and love that lives on in them. What lucky children to have a mother like her, no matter how short a time that they had her. Draw on her love and know it is still there.

In her short life, Connie shared her kindness and strength of character and changed the course of so many lives. She will be missed and remembered as one of the very special people put on earth. Rest and know your children will be loved and cared for as you loved and cared for so many others.

Much love Cousin.

Zach and Emily~ We knew your Mom as a wonderful mother, teacher and person. She always put your care first in her list of priorities. You were very much loved and valued by your mother. You can be proud of her not only for being the best mom ever but what she accomplished professionally as well. She was an outstanding teacher. We shared a space at the Roosevelt School and I saw how she always gave timeless dedication and love to her students. I will miss her effervescent personality and seeing you with her as she ran around Stoneham doing her quick errands in her Honda ELEMENT. I cry because I will miss her but smile as I remember her wonderful smiling self. We will keep you in our prayers and think how fortunate you are to have such a model to follow.

I was Zachary's bar mitzvah tutor from September 2004 through May of this year. I was amazed, inspired, encouraged, and deeply touched by the way Connie and every member of her family found the best of life in every day. They never fooled themselves about what was going on, and they never let her approaching death keep them from being a normal family enjoying life. This, to me, is what it means to be a hero. All my love, Zach.

My condolences to Connie's entire family. I was so blessed to have met Connie and share her friendship and support during our 'journey' together. The 'journey' was too short, indeed. I will always remember her smile, her kindness, her laughter and how she made everyone just feel better when she was around. We should all be so lucky to have one-tenth of her positivity, strength and determination and include it in our daily lives! It was such an honor to know her! May you find peace and comfort in the days to come.

We will be forever thankful to Connie for her warmth and support over the years. She was one of the most remarkable teachers and advocate for children with special needs. Her persistance and love for her students positvely impacted so many families. Her belief in her "kids" literally changed many children's lives. She changed the path of our son's life. Our family is eternally grateful for her making such difference in his life. She gave him a strong foundation that will last throughout his school years. Our family will never forget her for each time we look at Nicholas we will see his growth and we know that she help to start his journey .
