Mrs. Pickett was my english teacher for two years when I attended Meadowbrook. She taught me more in that time than most of my other teachers combined. I will never forget how she got me to do my best without being cruel and always used positive reinforcement and had a smile and a sense of humor. She was fair and kind and touched the lives of many.

I wish to pass on my belated condolences for "Miss Markey's" passing. I just came upon this notice. I was a 6th Grade student, starting in 1967 at the Phillips School in Wellesley. She was, and remains, my favorite teacher. She was fun, she pushed us,
she loved the Red Sox 1967, and she prepared us for the Junior High School. She was very special, and I think of her fondly till this day. Best Regards,

To Connie Pickett's family: I was very saddened to hear about the passing of "Miss Markey". I call her "Miss Markey", because she was my 6th grade teacher in Wellesley more than 35 years ago, and that is of course how we referred to her. I vividly remember her warm and vibrant personality, her love for her students, her patience and good humor. I guess that is why even after so many years she remains my all time favorite teacher, and I know I speak for so many others as she was uniformly loved. Although I never saw her again after 6th grade, she remains in my heart and always will. I hope your memories help sustain you through this difficult time.

Our world is dimmed by Connie's loss, but heaven has a bright new star indeed! Who can forget Connie's famous laugh, her optimism, creativity, sense of humor and fun? Her wisdom and joie de vivre brightened my life during our time as Meadowbrook colleagues and in the years since, through visits, phone calls and correspondence. Connie is now with God, found enthusiastically reading books to the angels, bringing her bright spirit to all. Au revoir, my friend...
