Daniel BLACK JOST Obituary

BLACK JOST, Daniel Arthur Died on April 2, 2024, at the age of 54, in Wrentham, Massachusetts.

Daniel's death was caused by complications of the syndrome, Cri du Chat, that he had at birth. That he lived to the age of 54 is a testimony to the care that he received during his life, first at Crystal Springs in Assonet and most of his life in Wrentham House. The people at these residences took loving care of Danny and he responded with his own love for them. Though he was severely limited, he could give love. He enjoyed riding in cars and he would go up to the staff sometimes with the keys asking, nonverbally, for a ride. Danny's life was shorter than many and no one would wish to have his syndrome. It meant, however, that he was always with people who cared about him, that he never felt any disrespect and that he did not have to worry about the many troubles of the world.

He is survived by his father and mother, David and Elaine Jost; by his brother, Rob Jost and his sister-in-law, Amy Jost; and by his niece, Eloise; and nephew, Lucian.

The Funeral will be privately held, conducted by the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, of WRENTHAM.

Gifts, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Open Sky Community Services or to Sturdy Health Foundation in Attleboro.

My condolences to your family. My cousin in Ireland has Cri du Chat and he just turned 20. I have visited him several times. The care, love and dedication of your family is a testament to his life. It's not a syndrome a lot of people know about. God bless you.
