My brother-in-law, Richard Thaler, worked with Dan at Bank of Boston and charged Dan with looking after me while living in Boston. Poor guy. He treated me like gold and stayed in touch for the next 40 years. Dan was so much fun to talk politics with and to learn history from and he was interested in what you had to say. An amazing and adorable man, he was truly a selfless person.

I loved Danny very much...We were undergraduates together at Tufts University. He was an amazing, kindhearted, intelligent man. He was a strategic genius...When we were fighting against the University for civil rights, Danny organized us like a Hannibal general. He was a genius who had a heart of Gold. Condolences to the family of Dan Coleman. It was with sadness that we learned of his passing but know that Dan impacted his community and his SMBG brothers immensely. His passion, strength and wisdom made us better men and more accountable leaders for our community. Rest well comrade!

It has probably been 30 years since our paths crossed at the bank. But, I remember you as a thoughtful, caring, sincere and gentle soul. The world was so much a better place with people of your character and demeanor. I wish I could have gotten to know you better. Look down on us from heaven.
