DANIEL CREMINS Obituary

CREMINS, Daniel V., Jr. Red Sox Nation lost one its most devoted citizens recently when Danny passed away in his Lowell home. He was 61. He was a cherished father, beloved brother, proud son, sweet uncle, and a Tonto-to-Lone Ranger kind of friend. Born in Cambridge to the late Daniel V. Sr. & Alice (Downing) Cremins, he attended Saint Mary of the Annunciation schools and graduated from Bentley College. He served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. He had a long career in retail. A self-taught musician who played drums and guitar, Danny loved to entertain and include friends and family with his engaging musical talents. He will be remembered for his smiling Irish eyes and storytelling gift, his meticulous style and his quick and easy sense of humor often highlighted by his funny way of "making stuff up" _ just for a laugh. But most of all, he will never be forgotten for his unmeasured loyalty for those he loved. Danny was preceded in death by both his parents and is survived by his dear son, Damian of Missoula MT, four sisters: Alice Cremins of Sulphur OK; Ann, (Ray) Powell of Arlington; Arlene, (Paul) Donnelly of York, ME; Andrea (Joe) Finger of Orlando, FL; 10 nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews and dozens of cousins and friends. Visiting hours in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, on Saturday, Aug 18th, from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 134 Norfolk Street, Cambridge, on Monday, Aug. 20th, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or the Red Sox Foundation and MGH Home Base Program, redsoxfoundation.org. Visit on line guest book at: www.brownandhickey.com

It's late I loved him. We shot some good pool.

Danny seemed most happy bringing joy to others.
