only knew you for a short time, Mr. Danny McDonough, back in the late 80's and maybe early 90's, but one thing I always remembered about you was that you had a huge inviting smile, a quick wit, and ...I can't even put my finger on it...you were just someone that people wanted to hang around with....I guess it was just your sense of humor, oh, wait..you were very handsome, too!! that's it! what a great family, those McDonough's! Thanks for letting us that knew him even for a brief time having time with Danny.

So sorry to hear about Danny. I have so many memories of the old neighborhood: Hide and seek, Sledding on Winston, Forts in the woods, camping out in our yards, etc--with Danny (and siblings of course) right in the thick of it! Much love to all the McDonoughs in this very hard time.

Like many others, when I heard of Dan's passing, thoughts of coulda, shoulda and woulda crossed my mind. when I was struggling with my own cancer, Dan made sure my family was taken care of. Speaks to the kind of person he really was.

My uncle Danny and my father were two peas in a pod. Not only because they were best friends as brothers but also because growing up with him felt like I had a second father. I know he loved us unconditionally and we loved him just the same. And like my father I aspire to be every bit the man he was.
Working in 104 I heard great stories of the incredible lineman he was. I always feel pride when brothers explain to me his stories and accomplishments.
You meant more to me than words can describe uncle Danny. I wish I had spent more time at your side so you could've understood how much I loved and appreciate you. I hope you can hear our thoughts and prayers. Whenever anyone calls me Matthew they will now be corrected with "that's my uncle Danny's name for me and only his." I love you Danny.

To My Uncle Danny,
I will miss your smile, I will miss your laughter, I will miss your young spirit, I will miss your unending thoughtfulness for others, and I will forever miss your love. Thank you for always being there for me and helping me grow into the young woman I am today. I will never forget how you always made me feel important, no matter what story I had for you. I will always admire your courage, your strength, and your kind heart. I promise we will be there for Auntie Dawn and Christopher, just as you were always there for us. I love you Uncle Danny, and I will miss you tremendously.
Love always from your niece,
Lisa

My uncle Dan was one of the funnest, strongest, kindest and honest men I know. We have so many wonderful memories of him growing up, my favorite being our trip to Boston and taking my first train ride ever with him. I'll always remember his smile and laugh and how he used to always instigate his nieces and nephews.
One of the greatest gifts Uncle Dan passed along to Dawn and Christopher is his honesty and strength, something we can all learn from.
