Daniel Valente Obituary

Dec. 19, a life long resident of Newton Upper Falls and War hero. A member of the 381st 8th Air Force of the Army Aircorp. Staff Sargent Valente was a tail gunner on B17s and flew 35 combat missions during WWII. Staff Sargent Valente was wounded in action, receiving the distinguished Flying Cross, air medal with 4 oak clusters, European medal, D-Day medal, the French Croix de Guerre, Presidential Unit Citation and the Purple Heart. Husband of the late Priscilla (Langley) and dear father of Jacqueline Milone and her husband Philip of Burlington, Linda Porreca and her husband Richard of Needham and Daniel G. Jr. of Newton. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM on Tuesday, Dec. 23rd at 9:00 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Newton Upper Falls at 10:00am. Visiting hours on Monday from 5-8:00 pm. Burial with military honors at St. Mary's Cemetery in Needham. Eaton Funeral Home 781-444-0201
