Dear Aunt Edith,
I am so sorry for the loss of Uncle David.
I would have loved to be in attendance but at the time I was hospitalized with pneumonia. As you know David was a pillar of our family. Soft spoken butlistened to. My memories of him go back to WW II and I will treasure them for the rest of my life. It seems like yesterday that we were taking grandpa Danforth for his Sunday ride.I know there is a special place in heaven for a man that exhibited the goodness of his heart during his lifetime. My deepest sympathy and sorrow go out to you and your family. Love, Edward

Dear Edith, I was saddened to hear of David's death. I never got to know him as much as I would have liked but what I did get to know was a very kind and loving man who valued his family and friends.
