Peter Driscoll Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home on Feb. 4, 2026.
Peter Andrew Driscoll, a coach, manager, golfer, and devoted family man, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 31, 2026. He was just 64 years old.
Peter was born in Winchester, the son of Michael and Teresa (Mullins) Driscoll. He enjoyed a wonderful youth growing up in Woburn, surrounded by sports, a neighborhood full of friends, and early jobs at the Woburn Country Club and the Burlington Ice Palace. He was a proud graduate of Woburn High School, Class of 1979.
As the second youngest of six children, with three older brothers ahead of him, Peter quickly learned how to hold his own and developed an incredibly competitive spirit. He was always eager to keep up and be included in whatever his older brothers were doing, no matter how physical the activity or how much smaller he was at the time. What some might have called an edge or scrappiness was, in truth, a confidence and fearlessness that stayed with him throughout his life. That same spirit carried into adulthood as he continued to play sports with his brothers as members of the "Blasters" softball and hockey teams.
Peter discovered his love for golf at an early age. He played courses all over the area, with Hillview Country Club and Swanson Meadows among his favorites. He filled in at leagues, played with family members, friends, and the Chili's crew, and never missed the Foohey Tournament in honor of his cousin and friend, Neil Foohey. He was also one of the lucky few golfers to achieve a hole-in-one at Swanson Meadows. His competitive side especially shined during match play, where his handicap and skill level seemed to become mysteriously fluid as he sought the best possible matchup. He proudly introduced his son, Sean, to the game, teaching him not only the rules and skills, but also the etiquette and love of the sport.
After graduating from Woburn High School, Peter earned his Business Degree at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell where he was a member of the Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity. His professional career steadily progressed as he worked at Raychem Corporation and BOC Edwards before joining Analog Devices in 1999. Starting as a Procurement Manager, he concluded his career in 2023 as a Worldwide Contracts and Compliance Manager. Peter excelled in his work not only because of his knowledge, but because of his remarkable people skills. He was known for making connections wherever he went. Whenever there was a problem to solve at work or at home, Peter's famous line would inevitably be heard: "I got a guy…" - and somehow, he always did.
Peter shared an extraordinary bond with his son, Sean. They were father and son, but also true buddies. Peter coached Sean through Little League, Majors, Babe Ruth, and summer travel baseball teams. He was respected by players and parents alike, and he never let his competitive nature overshadow the fact that sports are filled with mistakes, learning opportunities, and, most importantly, fun. They loved watching all the Boston sports teams together. Peter was known for cooking big breakfasts, and they cherished time spent at his place at Loon Mountain, where they skied, played tennis, swam, and entertained family and friends. They also enjoyed deep sea fishing trips and playing pool. There were no regrets between them - they made time for each other, created lasting memories, and Sean always knew how proud his dad was of him.
Peter lived life on his own terms and was truly someone everyone loved. He will be remembered for his competitive spirit, the strong bond he shared with his siblings, his devotion to his mother, and his gregarious manner - he had no acquaintances, only best friends. He was protective and caring, quick-witted, and blessed with a sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest day.
Peter was a special man, deeply loved, with so much still ahead of him. While his sudden passing is difficult to accept, his memory, laughter, and spirit will live on in all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Peter was the proud father of Sean Driscoll of Reading. He was the son of the late Michael Driscoll and Teresa (Mullins) Driscoll. He was the caring brother of Brian Driscoll & his wife Mary of Franklin, Paula Wheeler & her husband Harry of Reading, Mark Driscoll & his wife Linda of Derry, NH, Leanne Norris & her husband Michael of Reading, and the late Michael Driscoll. Peter was the former husband of Stephany (Kiely) Driscoll of Reading. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
