DAVID DEARBORN Obituary

DEARBORN, David Age 80, beloved husband of Mary (Riley) Dearborn with whom he had shared thirty nine years of marriage, died peacefully on June 6, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Frederick M. and Pauline (Moore) Dearborn. He was raised in Wenham, a graduate of St. Paul's School in Concord, NH and earned his degree from Harvard College class of '59. He continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Law Degree. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army. Mr. Dearborn had been employed for twenty five years as a fund raiser for Harvard College, until the time of his retirement in 2003. Prior to that, he had worked as a trust officer at the State Street Bank in Boston. Surviving him are two sons, Chris Dearborn and his wife, Heidi of Wenham and Fred Dearborn of Colorado Springs, CO, his daughter, Molly Cook of Naples, FL, two grandchildren, Matty Dearborn and Emily Dearborn both of Wenham, two brothers, Alex Dearborn and his wife, Danna of Kittery Point, ME and Philip Dearborn and his spouse, Mark of Fort Lauderdale, FL, along with several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Active in the community, he was a member of several local Boards. David was a humble and honorable man of great integrity. He was one of a handful of 4th generation members of the Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton. One of his great loves was visiting the family camp in the Adirondacks where he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Mr. Dearborn traveled extensively with his wife Mary and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan; David is now gazing over Fenway Park from heaven. His services will be private. Arrangements made by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, BEVERLY. Dear Mary

Lawrie and I want you to know how much we share your loss. We got to know David thanks to your close friendship with Lawrie, your family's hospitality, and our common interest concerning travel to East Africa, to special lakes in up-state New York, to Lake Geneva, Beverly and Florida. Unfortunately, due to long-planned, unchangeable travel with a group to Europe today (Tuesday) we will miss the ceremony and celebration of Davids life at Myopia Hunt Club on the marrow (Wednesday).

To say David will be missed is an understatement. His enthusiasm and spirit will always be alive with those who came in touch with him. His love of history, fishing, keeping in touch, Harvard acumen and fund raising efforts were always of interest. I held his advice in high regard. He came into our lives nearly forty years ago - and as our association matured, I came to understand why David was such a valued friend.

He was an individual with an appetite for life's wonders. We were fortunate to enjoy his company at Camp Otterbrook and other locales. There are those who will remember David having satisfying conversations about his his brothers, his children and grandchildren. He delighted when he knew they would be joining you both in the Adirondack Mountains. And there are those, who remembered David as a good listener - one who could heighten the triumphs and soften the defeats. He did so for me. The exceptional good nature he possessed confirmed the fullness of his life.

David's extraordinary talent for living overflowed to your family and friends - and for that Lawrie and I are grateful. You can be assured that all of the Weed family prayers and best wishes are centered on you, your children and grandchildren.

All our Love,

Ed Weed
