David Jonathan FINE

FINE, David Jonathan Age 77, born on June 10, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY, raised in Teaneck, NJ and longtime resident of Newton, MA, died on October 16. David was the son of Lilian B. Fine and Saul Fine. He attended Yale College and Harvard Law School. David clerked in the Eastern District of New York for the Honorable Judge John F. Dooling, Jr. and began practicing as an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. He then moved to Massachusetts, where he built a long and varied legal career in civil litigation, with a commitment to cases in the public interest. He partnered with many esteemed colleagues before launching a private practice. David's lifelong passions included literature, classical music, and tennis. Always eager to share his enthusiasms with others, he was a loyal participant in his book club at the Boston Athenaeum, his tennis group at Wightman Tennis Center, and his Talmud class at Temple Emanuel. David will be remembered for his prodigious intellect, his optimism and humor, and his gentle and loving nature. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara Goldman; his children and their spouses, Isaac Fine and Patricia White, Aaron and Alisa Fine, and Eve Fine; his five grandchildren, William, Kathryn, Alexander, Nathaniel, and Jacob Fine; and his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Sandy Sward. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, at 11am, at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon Street, BROOKLINE, MA 02445.
