When David first came to South School, my children came home and told me they had a new principal named "der" Fisher. They had no idea what "Dr" stood for or meant. It was a joke David enjoyed. David will be missed.

David and his family lived next door to us in Dorchester and from the day I first met him we became lifelong friends. He was always kind, charitable and cared very much for his friends and family. Thanks you so much for the wonderful memories.

Dave was my principal for many many years. His encouragement and respect for individuality and his faith and trust in his staff made working under his guidance a gift. But as a person, Dave was a gentle soul, always compassionate, always understanding ~ and perhaps that is what touched me the most. May he rest in eternal peace.

So very sorry for your loss. David was a lovely man. I met him through Food pantry Foundation of Stoughton while Dave was still generously active with his time and talent in our fund raising activities. Rest in Gods peace David!

Dave was my second principal at the South School. We worked together for many years. Dave always believed that family came first and encouraged his staff to take care of family matters when necessary.
He loved being a principal and appreciated his staff, students and families. He treated his staff as professionals and his door was always open for conversation or a discussion. One of my favorite memories of Dave was when he read a story to the entire school from the roof of the South School! RIP, Dave.
With sympathy,
Mary Reese and family~

I had the pleasure to have Dr. Fisher as my principal at South elementary school in the 90s. David was a wonderful caring man who made time for every single student that graced the halls. Years later I reconnected with David by chance at a poker table of all places. I´m so glad to have had those fun memories with him. He was indeed a great man and will truly be missed.

In the summer of 1988, having just graduated from college, I interviewed with Dr. Fisher for a first grade teaching position at the South School. I spent my rookie years at the South, honing my skills under Dave's charge. He took pride in his school. He loved his work. He loved his family. David Fisher welcomed me to Stoughton Public Schools. I will always be grateful for that.

I knew David in many capacities, he was my daughters' principal at South School, he was my boss for a short while and he was a friend and mentor. David encouraged me to pursue a teaching career which I did with his support. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

I knew David from The Sharon Dog Park where we would gather every weekend with our dogs. He and Sienna are now together again. I truly will miss him. He was a special person for sure.

He was my principal at South School in the late 70s 80. I reconnected with him at Gold's Gym where I was also friends with Dianne. He took art classes from me for a bit. I ended up doing some art projects for him including charcoal portraits of himself and Dianne. So sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
With sympathy
Erin.

Stoughton, MA. has just lost a great human being. David Fisher was the quintessential example of what we all strive for.
David led by example; he had a calming effect on everyone he met, and never hesitated to change the environment for the best interests of everyone. He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him!
