I was just thinking about you today Dave. And thanking God that you are part of my life. I admire your work ethics and your selflessness even more so. But most of all is your heart of gold. Never saying no when asked to help and always going beyond when doing so. You are an example of how we should treat each other....from the heart with love. And I love you right back.

I apologize that I found out too late for me to attend the wake, or the funeral.

Earlier this week, he appeared to me in a dream. I dreamt that I went to visit him at the rehab center. All of his family seemed to be in his room, but he was out in the hallway. I found it strange that he was standing and had full use of his arms and legs, etc. After I woke up, I guessed why. It saddens me to know that my guess was correct.

Even when he and I lost contact with each other, I still considered him to be a close friend. Dave was one of a kind. Stacy, Sonia, and I shall miss him and we shall never forget him. I shall never forget the stunts that he pulled, the stories that he told, his manor of speaking, his laugh, and much more.

The memories come flooding back to me. His heart was bigger than his ability to help. He always overcommitted himself. Like most of us, he was his own worst critic. He gave more much of himself than the average person, yet he would feel that it was not enough.

My sadness is a reminder of how fortunate I am to have known him.
