Tobin family,

I had the pleasure to study under Professor Tobin last spring at Northeastern University. He was a great teacher and a wonderful person. I looked forward to every class not because of the topics we discussed, but for the stories Professor Tobin would tell. I'll never forget all the life lessons he taught us. He will be missed.

To the Tobin Family,

I worked closely with Donal at Gillette for 15 years. Donal was a great person to know. He was a brilliant man with an outstanding grasp of how important Intellectual Property is to a technically focused consumer goods company that Gillette was.

Donal was always interested in the high-speed equipment and tooling that we created in the Blade/Razor business. He was able to completely grasp al the technologies we developed, and he often made comments that helped us advance this work. He was a valued associate of the Boston and UK EIG team that I had the pleasure of leading.

My condolences go to the Tobin family on your loss. May Donal rest in peace.

To the Tobin Family:

I'm very sorry for your loss. As a Braun Patent Attorney I had had the pleasure to work together with Don from 1990 to 2006 and we met us often at Gillette in Boston and overhere in Kronberg/Germany. Don was an excellent IP expert and an extremely fine colleague.
Please accept my sincere condolences on this terrible loss.

To the Tobin Family:

I'm very sorry for your loss. I was Don's Assistant in the Patent Dept. at Gillete several years ago. He was a tough but fair man and was always good to me, especially when I had to go out on an extended medical leave. I thank him for that. I hope you have many happy memories of Don that will light your days ahead! Peace to all of you.

My deepest sympathy to Don's family. Don was special, he was always willing to discuss my questions and career options in the 20 years we knew each other. He and I met in about 1990 when we both applied for the Gillette job. I was already Chief IP Counsel for The Foxboro Company for several years and Foxboro was going through the first of its several changes of ownership, so I gave Gillette my CV. In spite of the usual dynamic expected, we became friends.
Don and I had Lunch together just about a month ago where we discussed a patent litigation issue at some length. We had a great time together discussing both law and many other things. Very hard to imagine that he took ill shortly thereafter. Don always took great interest in what I was doing and provided me strong support when I needed it - I will miss him for a very long time.
