DONNA MORGAN

MORGAN, Donna (Donegan) Age 84, of Newton, MA, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. Born in 1941 in Bakersfield, California, Donna was the daughter of Dolores and Robert Donegan. She graduated from Garces High in 1958 and later earned a master's degree in social work from Columbia University in 1967. It was there she met her future husband, Alec, and they married that same year. They had two children, Ian and Elise, and eventually settled in Newton, MA. Donna was a dedicated clinical social worker for many years, working at West-Ros-Park Mental Health Center, Brookline Visiting Nurses Service, Partners Health,Boston Psychoanalytic Advanced Training Program and in private practice, until her retirement in 2020. She loved to travel and explore different cultures, with trips to Europe, New Zealand, and Asia, and cherished time spent with family, especially in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Donna was an avid cook, known for recreating recipes with her unique flair. Donna will be remembered for her kindness, wit, and sense of humor. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people and maintained close friendships throughout her life. She is survived by her husband, Alec Morgan; her children, Ian Morgan (Anna) and Elise Morgan (Lee Matsueda); and her grandchildren, Sasha, Max and Fox. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerry Donegan. A private scattering of her ashes will take place at Newton Cemetery. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, September 5, from 3-6 p.m., at the family home, 94 Herrick Road, Newton, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WBUR or the Alzheimer's Association.
