1947 - 2022

PORTER, Donna Lee On Monday, August 1, 2022, Donna Lee Porter (74) passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Born to Janet and Kenneth Olson in Malden, MA, Donna was a graduate of Arlington Mass H.S. In addition to being an avid Boston Red Sox fan, Donna was most proud of her Scottish ancestry. A past President of the Dutchess County Scottish society and member of the Thistle Club, she and her husband, Bill travelled a number of times to Scotland, visiting extended family and touring the highlands and numerous castles and abbeys. Donna enjoyed spending time with her 13 grandchildren, reading novels, and listening to music. Donna raised many Scottish and West Highland Terriers during her lifetime. She was very devoted to them and they brought her much happiness. She also loved cruises. She cruised in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean with her husband, family, and friends. Throughout her husband's military service and civilian career, Donna and Bill lived in Watertown, MA, Baltimore, MD, New Orleans, LA, East Washington, NH, Somers, CT, and Wappingers Falls, NY, before retiring to Colleyville, TX, in 2012. Donna is survived by her husband, Bill; five children: Loralie A. Cooper, William G. Porter, Jr., Jane G. Daulerio, James W. Porter, and Christopher W. San Soucie; 13 grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and a large extended family. In accordance with her wishes, a portion of her ashes will be placed in the Porter family cemetery plot in New Hampshire, a portion in her family plot in Massachusetts, and a portion will be taken by family members to Glasgow, Scotland and cast upon the river Clyde.
