Some of my best times as a young adult were those at the studio in Hyde Park, on the 2nd floor on River Street. You gave us direction, and self confidence, along with some wonderful friends. Those rehearsals at the shell at the Stop and Shop, as well as the summer visits to your home will always be in my memory. Everyone was always hoping it would be their turn to stay at your summer home.
Thank you for all your positive influences in my life.

Daurice was a second mother to me. I started lessons with her at age 18months, my first recital at age 2yrs. Have thought about her often. God bless her. I am now 73 and still dance around the house. Althea Fitch Cromwell Westport Island, Maine

Daurice was my first Dance Teacher I learned a lot from her and have had a love of any kind of Dancing because of her. I also was a member of her Drum and Bugle Corp. My sister and I did not live in Hyde Park. We lived in Jamaica Plain and a few nights when our father had to work we would have an informal dinner with Daurice and Mac upstairs from the Studio after Drum & Bugle practice. Daurice was a perfectionist and in being so she instilled the love of Dance in many she showed us that you can be the best you wanted to be and still have fun. I am only sorry that I did not find out in time that she lived here in Florida or I would have made the trip up to see her. She will be greatly missed as I have never forgotten her. God bless you Daurice. To me you were a mentor and a teacher. I still remember as far back as 1947 attending Camp Daurice. Later learning the Accordion, learning the art of the dance, and later the bugle because you wanted to start a Drum and Bugle Corps. We were called, "The Vigilantes", in 1950. It was for your love of country western that we were to wear cowboy and cowgirl outfits. Stayed until 1954. It was a life I'm glad I learned. You are in my heart and mind every day and I'm sure in the minds of all who have memories of those wonderful and sometimes magical days of friendship and love. Your soul is now with GOD and I'm sure you are teaching the Angles how to tap their way around Heaven all day. A beautiful woman is gone but will never be forgotten. Daurice my love for you will be forever. Joey Manganiello, Wrentham, MA 02093

Daurice was my best friend during these past 9 years as I helped her with
the "behind the scenes jobs of programs, filming, making videos, etc. for the Many programs she presented throughout the years at senior centers, nursing homes, putting on parades, pageants, and the dance lessons she gave every Tuesday at the Lady Lake FL Community Building where she taught Tapp, Ballet, Clogg & Jazz to area students. As Grandmother of 3 of these students I watched as she helped them grow not in just dance skills but in "showmanship, and gaining poise and confidence. 'THE CHILDREN WERE HER LIFE" and Daurice showed her love for them throughout her life. The over 10,000 children her life touched over her lifetime -- THEIR SUCCESSES ARE HER LEGACY! DANCINGLY YOURS DAURICE!
YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED, LOVED AND MISSED! Sandra Maciejejwski, Friend.

Daurice did not need a last name, she was a one name icon long before those in Hollywood. Daurice was my dance and twirling instructor for a few years. She loved us all and made us believe that we were very talented if we were talented or not (I was a not). I was in the group that went to Atlantic City in a snow storm to audition. I was also fortunate enough to be part of the first group that performed in Atlantic City. Daurice took us everywhere for competitions and to perform She taught us respect, tolerance and acceptance. It did not matter if you were tall or short, thin or heavy, talented or not. Daurice was a one of a kind!

Dear Daurice,
You were my mentor, teacher, and 2nd mother. You taught me so much beyond dance. It is because of you that I have had a career as a dance teacher and studio owner for the past 28 years.
You gave me the passion and love for the art of dance, the work ethic needed to succeed and the support and love to carry me through.
You meant the world to me and I will miss you every day of my life. I will also carry on giving the love of dance to other children as you did to so many. I thank you for everything and you will be in my heart forever.
May you rest in peace with Mac and so many others you are now reunited with.
I LOVE YOU!

Daurice,
Thank you for teaching me that stereotypes can be broken and that you can have a love for both dance and sports. There were many of days I was picked on when and I didn't understand that you could enjoy both. It's only due to the fact you kept telling me that I was good and that a young man can dance, years later I uncderstand. You where one of a kind and that is what made you so special.
Thank you for being you and teaching everyone about life as well as dance.
