HOHMANN, Edmund A. Jr. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edmund A. Hohmann, Jr., of Norwell, on October 10, 2024. He was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, whose legacy of family, humility and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Ed was the son of the late Mary (Sweeney) and Edmund A. Hohmann, Sr. He was born on January 3, 1942, and grew up in Quincy. After graduating from Archbishop Williams High School, he went on to begin a lengthy career in the fourth-generation family-owned oil company. Ed married the love of his life, Joyce (Mantia) in 1965, and the two settled in Quincy and later, Norwell, to raise their family. They shared 59 beautiful years of marriage. Father of Edmund "Ted" A. Hohmann, III and his wife Debbie of Kingston, Scott Hohmann and wife Pam of Norwell, and Greg Hohmann and his wife Shannon of Norwell. Grandfather of nine: Ryan, Chloe, Madison, Emily, Lexi, Brenna, Brooke, Cameron and Kendall. Predeceased by his sister MaryAnne Kenney; brother-in-law Robert Kenney; and nephew Stephen Kenney. Ed was the foundation of his family, a man whose quiet strength and incredible heart were a guiding force. He loved the Cape, the ocean, his morning coffee on the dock and most of all, spending time with family. Some of his most favorite memories were traveling the world with Joyce and fishing with his three sons. Whether the fish were biting or not, it was the experience of being on the water with family that filled him with happiness. Ed was a great listener and took genuine care in every conversation. He never wasted a moment of his life and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren - never missing an event or game that they had. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, October 24, from 4:00PM-7:00PM, at Sullivan Funeral Home in HANOVER, 551 Washington St., Rt. 53. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 25, at 10am, at Our Lady of the Angels Parish (St. Mary's) in Hanover, 392 Hanover St. Burial will immediately follow at Washington Street Cemetery, in Norwell.
