My prayers are with you at this time of loss. I meet Mr. Aucoin fresh out of college working at Allstate Ins in Wellesley. He always seemed to take a sincere interest in all of us. Now I read of his life's accomplishments and am truly in awe. What a beautiful and classy human being! May God bless him and you all!

To the Aucoin Family,

The current and retired members of the Massachusetts State Police offer their deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences for the loss of S/Sgt. Edward T Aucoin MSP Ret.

S/Sgt. Aucoin served the Massachusetts State Police will Honor and Distinction for 21 years (1947-1969). Being a Trooper during the years of living in the barracks required sacrifice by the Trooper but more importantly the Trooper's family.

The Troopers worked many more hours than they were home. An 80 hour work week was considered an easy week. In the 1940s to the late 1960s, the word "overtime" did not exist on the State Police.

On a personal note, my father, Lt. Edward G. Byron MSP Ret. (33rd RTT) 1948-1970 served with S/Sgt. Aucoin for 20 years.

During my MSP career from 1974-2001, I found the foot prints of those Troopers who we followed were always very difficult to fill.

My sympathy to Mrs. Aucoin and the extended Aucoin family. As a young Trooper I was fortunate to serve under Sgt. Aucoin at the Grafton Barracks. His love of family, his service to country and to the Commonwealth, reflect a true member of The Greatest Generation.
