My thoughts and prayers go out to the Burns family. It was privilege to know him and an honor to play football for him. Coach Burns was more than a coach he was a mentor and a father figure and all ways taught us that "Winners never lose and losers never win" Coach you will be missed.

It was with sadness I read online about Ed's passing. He was a gentleman and a great person. I worked with Ed when I was Assistant Principal at AHS. I always found him to be most helpful and cooperative.A great man. May he rest in PEACE.

I know my husband, Gerard Cronin Sr. was one of the first to embrace Ed as he entered through the gates of heaven.
Two generations of Cronins honored to play for Ed Burns. A great man, a tremendous loss and a legend whose unbelievable memories will live on forever!

The Burns family,
Eddie Burns was not only a great husband, father and coach, but an outstanding educator. He could have coached a third season, but chose to work on getting his football and hockey players into college. I enjoyed working with him during my time at the Waltham News-Tribine and the Globe. I extend my condolences on your loss.
