Edward Grabski Obituary

Of Boxford and formerly of Cape Cod and Brighton, passed away July 3, 2008 at the age of 90 in Ipswich at the Caldwell Nursing and Rehab Center. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn (Reid) Grabski for over 65 years and first born of the late Mary (Pietrowski) and Thomas Grabski. Proud and loving father of Charles E. Grabski and cherished "Papa" of Matthew E. Grabski and Father-in-law of Laura S. Grabski all of Boxford. Ed is also survived by his dear sister and brother-in-law Irene and Floyd Dickson and his brother John Grabski all of New Hampshire, and several nieces and nephews. Educated at Boston English High School and Northeastern University, Ed's Design Engineering career started at Rivett Lathe and Grinder in Brighton and continued as Plant Manager of Acumeter Laboratories in Wellesley, and he retired as Director of Purchasing for Barry Wright Corporation of Waltham. He was very successful in the machine tool industry and well known for his expertise in that field. Ed and his wife retired to Cape Cod where they enjoyed many happy years, and also spent much time in Florida. They enjoyed travel over the U.S. and Europe as well as many cruises, the last cruise being spent with their son and grandson. Ed was a quiet, peaceful and religious man with a good word for all. His nurses all said, "It was a pleasure taking care of him". He loved golf, photography, woodworking his lighthouses, and was an avid reader. At one time Ed owned a boat and kept it at Watertown Yacht Club and Duxbury Yacht Club when summering at their beach home at Ocean Bluffs. Ed was a good man who will be sorely missed by his family and friends. May God watch over him. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 8th at 10AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 12 Park Street, Topsfield. Deacon Joseph Turcotte, cousin of Ed and Evelyn will con-celebrate his Funeral Liturgy with the Reverend Mark Mahoney. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery, Arlington. Calling Hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 in the Merton E. Roberts, Jr. and Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, GEORGETOWN, MA 01833.
