EDWIN F. MEEK Jr.

MEEK, Edwin F., Jr. Of Quincy, died March 2, 2014 at the age of 87. Ed Eddie Meek was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1944-1946. He worked for Pitney-Bowes as a service technician for 37 years. Ed enjoyed trips to Cape Cod and Maine with his wife and family. He was an avid boater and car enthusiast. Best car-1966 Pontiac GT 400. He loved swing music and playing the organ. Ed was an avid Boston sports fan. Most of all he enjoyed the times he was with his family. He will be remembered as a quiet, gentle, kind, dedicated and loyal soul. He was pre-deceased in 2012 by his wife of 61 years Margaret E. (Rooney) Meek. He was the beloved father of Edwin Meek III (husband to Elizabeth) of Somerville, John Meek (betrothed to Donna) of Maine, Dorothy Geary of Braintree and Susan White of Plymouth. He was affectionately known as Papa to his grandchildren: Caroline, Anthony, Kimberly, Eddie, Timothy, Jacqueline and Isabella, and his great-grandchildren: Cassandra, Arianna, Autumn, and Taytum. He is survived by his brother Donald Meek of Florida. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. in QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 11 AM.
