Eileen WARD Obituary

WARD, Eileen C. (Lee) Age 52, of Canton, MA and Traverse City, MI, passed into eternal life in October 2023. She was born on March 10, 1971, to Frank M. and Eileen M. (Murnane) Ward of Boston, Canton and Osterville, MA. She attended Ursuline Academy ('89) and continued her studies at University of Rochester ('93). Lee received her master's in education from Lesley University ('95), became a certified massage therapist ('96), a Reiki Master ('97) and certified Energy Clearer. She is survived by siblings, Frank, Jr., Thomas, Julianne (Michael Mahoney) and Stephen (Roberta). She was a magical aunt to Erik, Donovan, Luke, Nick, Sam, Jake, Mikaela, Connor and Ryan. Lee was predeceased by her father, Frank; nephew, Erik; and many aunts, uncles and grandparents, all of whom have embraced her in eternal love and light with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lee was a lifelong truth seeker who passionately pursued creativity, the healing arts and travel. A prolific writer and artist, she wrote and illustrated, "Beyond the Rocks," a children's book about self-acceptance and exploring the world. She was in awe of the beauty of children and would instinctively drop to their eye level to communicate with them.

Lee, an intrepid wanderess with travel in her soul, would often ship beautiful crystals from her journeys to her nephews, reminding them to listen to mother nature. She had the utmost admiration for animals and Mama Earth.

As a Reiki master and massage therapist, she truly believed if we could heal ourselves and our surroundings, the world would be a better place. Lee was profoundly influenced by the ancient Buddhist teachings of Reiki and its beneficial effect on energy healing and the human soul. She was always connecting with and healing people while on her journeys. Grateful friends and family claim she could ease aches and problems in one session. A fierce listener, she gifted undivided attention and made you feel like you were the only one in a room full of people. Her advice was always intentional, heartfelt and sincere.

Visits with Lee were a workout for the mind and body. She loved marathon conversations, intellectual debate, karaoke, dancing for hours and going for long walks to nowhere. She had a deep infectious laugh that started in her belly and filled an entire room. Making her laugh was our pleasure because it was she who always had us in hysterics as she recounted classic family stories.

Lee was an effervescent, creative force. She was an endless, masterful producer of art and poems which she generously shared with everyone.

Her curiosity was 1,000 steps ahead of us, as was her taste in music. She had a gift for creating the most epic mix CDs. Lee introduced us to countless new songs and artists. She couldn't walk by a piano without stopping to play the intro to "Don't Stop Believin'" and she could belt "Bohemian Rhapsody" as well as Freddie Mercury.

Lee was a source of light, courage and empowerment and we basked in her radiant presence. We will love and miss our kind and beautiful Lee forever.

"Speak the truth, even if your voice shakes."

I am so very sorry for your loss. Lee was a beautiful soul filled with humor and love. I lived with her in school at University of Rochester and we unfortunately grew apart. I had always missed her beautiful kindness. I had tried to find her several times but was unsuccessful. I hope you can be comforted by your beautiful memories.
With love
