Dear Koutroubas Family,

You've been in our thoughts and prayers ever since we got the sad news.
Aunt Betty was one of the sweetest ladies I knew. As a child I just loved to spend time with her. I know how much she'll be missed.
Love to all.

Dear ma you were the best mother a son could have asked for. You were always encouraging and made me feel like I could do what ever I wanted to as long as I tried. You told me you liked my shirt, or liked my haircut cause I looked so handsome. You made everyone whose life you touched better for having known you, no matter how long you knew them. I am glad I had the opportunity to say good bye to you with all of your other children. We are all going to be happy because it's all you ever wanted, because you were the greatest mother in the world and I am going to miss you.
Love your son Peter
p.s. give Billy a big hug for me.

What a place special in my heart Betty has made and will be there for always! A lady who would grab my arm and never let me forget that she couldn't be late to the show on Tuesday! Front row was what she wanted. She would always leave a sparkle behind and that is what she will always be. I was happy to get to know Betty and learn a thing or two about family, love and just being happy with the little things! Forever will be miss and loved! A little glitter will make me smile forever! Thank you to the Koutroubas family...S'agapo

Are there words to say what needs to be said, really? "I'm sorry for your loss" doesn't even begin to cover it. Betty was truly an angel among us. Some of us had more time with her than others, but we are all wishing we had more of it. Her presence could brighten the dimmest of days and warm the coldest of nights.
The hall is a little emptier with her gone. I will always cherish my memories of her.
Please know that my heart goes out to the entire Koutroubas family.
With love
Caitlin

My beautiful Mother..You are gone from here now and my heart is aching for you. I will never be the same and I just want to thank you Ma for all your lessons. I wish we had more time. Today we were supposed to be at Angels sitting on her porch watching the birds and looking at her beautiful flowers. I wish it would have been. You were a simple woman Ma but your wisdom was amazing. Your greatest lesson was love. Love of family. You always said all that mattered to you was your children and that we all loved each other. We do Ma its all good now. Everything fell into place we were all there with you when you had to leave us and we will always be together now in love. youre with Billy and nicholas now and all those who left before you. You can walk, and dance with Billy. No more pain, needles, wheelchair. Youre one of the most sparkling angels in heaven now. Ah, yes, Ma and her sparkles. You gave the best hugs and kisses ma and weren't you proud of my sons when they carried you to your resting place. They loved their yiayia. When Robert was too old to have a bottle, he would ask yiayia, of course there was no problem there. I got the best two years of you ma and for that I thank all the love at Greenbriar. Toni, Godwin, Sall, Patti, Dawn, Carla, Bobby, April, Kaitlin and everyone who was a part of her life there. You know, in the end its only the love that matters. I guess i learned Ma's greatest lesson.

Dear Koutroubas Sisters and family, I met you in Market Basket and shared a little moment in your time of grief. I found your mothers story here from the prayer you shared with me. She sounds like a great lady. I hope the song "If you could see me now" brings some comfort to your family. I am so sorry for your great loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. To Yiayia Betty,
Love, Your Granddaughter and namesake, Elizabeth

"One Last Goodbye"

Every time I saw you, you made me smile. Whether it was your surprised face to see me or the red lipstick left on my cheek from the big kiss you gave me.

You said less but always meant more.

At a party, you would always brighten the room with your sparkling clothes.

Everywhere we went, we could smell your perfume from miles away and we knew that was Yiayia!

Playing Bingo or listening to music would brighten your day. When we saw new beads, we knew you had a winning way!

I can hear you now, saying, "Don't worry, I'm safe and sound and I'm with my Billy-boy and brother too."
Its hard to say goodbye to such a wonderful person that lived in our lives. We are going to miss you Yiayia, but we will always know that you are in our hearts, keeping and making us stronger everyday.

Once we get to heaven, you will show us the way. I have one thing left to say...I love you!

Such a hard thing life is. A bride, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend has ended her journey on earth but is at peace with her son, great-grandson and all those who went before her. I'm sure she's had a cup of coffee with my parents!

I'll always remember her saying "you're so beautiful". No matter what I had on or how I truly looked it just didn't seem to matter to my aunt Betty, I was beautiful to her! Aunt Betty will be missed but never forgotten.
