Dr. Jackson had such a grace about her. Her kindness and compassion taught me so much. She was a remarkable woman who will never be forgotten. Dr. Jackson maintained her poise and elegance right up until her last words. I am deeply saddened by this loss. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

As a yong person growing up in Roxbury in the 1950s and in later professional years I will always value the benefit I received from knowing and interacting with Ellen. Many of us only hope and pray that we can touch other lives in half as well as she touched ours. She was an angel doing God's prophetic work.

My Aunt Mary introduced me to the Jackson family when I was a kid. That was 40 years ago. Mrs. Jackson was a wonderful and loving person then as well as now who always stressed the importance of an education. Ronni, Darryl, Troy, Sheryl & Stefanie, your mother lives on in all of you. Sorry for your loss.

My deepest sympathy and fond, heartfelt memories are with the entire Jackson Family at this time. So much goodness came from growing up on Brookledge Street. Mrs. Jackson was and will always be a big part of that goodness. God Bless.

Sheryl,

It's hard to find words of comfort in times like these. All I can say is when times get hard and you're at a loss just reach down deep and pull up those memories of your Mom and the family. They will make it a little easier and will give you the strenght to go on. Please accept my condolences.

Our sincere sadness is extended to the Jackson Family at this time of lose.

Ellen was a strong influence to all of us young men who were fortunate enough to run together and be graced by her brilliance and person in the '60s and '70s. Conversations in her mother's living room with close friends of the family will long be remembered. She indelibly touched our lives and will be greatly missed.

May god's comfort embrace all who will come to celebrate her life lived and shared with us.

Dr. Jackson was a dynamic and strong woman active in civil rights and the betterment of the world. Her legacy shines in her children, especially my friend Ronica, and her works will be carried on through future generations.
