Elnora Lowe Obituary

LOWE -- Elnora Mayfield, 87, retired Administrative Assistant from BP (AMOCO), departed this life on Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Born February 18, 1920 in Sapulpa and was a 1938 graduate of Sapulpa High School. In 1964, she moved to Tulsa and married Joe Lowe of Waco, TX. Insatiably curious, a life-long student, world traveler and arts lover, Elnora was granted her Bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University in 1996. A remarkable achievement of which we are so very proud. She was passionate about her Catholic faith as a long-time member of Holy Family Parish, an avid bridge player and member of the D.A.R. through her genealogy avocation. Survivors include sisters, Marguerite Chapman, Oklahoma City, Julia Ausmus, Sapulpa, and June Howard, Chapel Hill, N.C. Elnora is loved and revered as Mom by her many nieces and nephews and as Gramma by their children. Her final years were stolen by Alzheimer's but she received remarkable nurturing care. The family requests, tax- deductible donations be made in Elnora's memory to St. Simeon's Foundation, Memory Center, 3701 N. Cincinnati, Tulsa 74106. Rosary 4 p.m., Sunday, March 4, at Fitzgerald's Ivy Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m., Monday, March 5, at Holy Family Cathedral. Interment Calvary Cemetery. The Fitzgerald's Ivy Chapel, 918-585-1151, www.fitzgeraldivychapel.com
