ERIK HOOK Obituary

HOOK, Erik W. October 17th, 1965 - January 21st, 2021 Erik Hook passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the much too young age of 55, just 10 weeks after his shocking diagnosis of Cholangiocarcinoma. He died peacefully, listening to Joni Mitchell and held in the arms of his wife and soulmate, Alison (Baum,) and his beloved children, Sam and Amanda (all of Somerville, MA). Along with his wife and children, Erik leaves behind his loving sisters, Kathleen Hook (Egan, MN) and Maryan Gallagher (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and their families, as well as his devastated aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and in-laws and numerous neighbors and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. After years of working the rock and roll roadie life, Erik spent the last 15 years serving his community as a realtor. He worked at Century 21 Commonwealth in Somerville and most recently at Compass Concierge in Cambridge where he was loved and respected by his clients and colleagues alike and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Erik's memory to the ACLU to honor his lifelong passion for social justice and civil rights. Due to Covid-19, the family will hold a Virtual Memorial Service via Zoom on Friday, February 5th. All are welcome to attend. Details will be posted on Facebook and Forevermissed.com/erik-hook The family is planning an in-person Celebration of his Life once the pandemic subsides.
