My memories of my Aunt Evie are many and my very special ones are those I have of summers when her and Uncle Stewart would come "back east" to visit members of the MacDonald family. She was always happy to see us and spend special times laughing and reminiscing of summers gone by. I also remember spending special visits with her on Hoitt Road. We would head out for shopping trips to Bangor and Filene's Basement in Boston and Aunt Evie would host us during our shopping sprees. She was a very special lady and although her and Uncle Stewie didn't get as many years together as they had hoped, the years they had together were very special. They had a very special love for one another and I am sure they are dancing together in Heaven. You will be missed Aunt Evie. Until we meet again...xoxo

I'd simply like to extend my most heartfelt condolences to the entire family, particularly my friend, Dan. Evie will live in my heart as the fun and adventurous lady who put up with our antics in New York City..and usually ended up leading us on an even more wonderful adventure than any we could have planned. She was always quite a good sport! I remember one particular evening, waiting for the two of you to show up for our fantastic seats in the 2nd row orchestra to see Tyne Daly sing the lead in Gypsy. Wondering why you were so late. Until the two of you waltzed in to take your seats moments before the curtain...and Evie had a patch on her forehead....the two of you explaining that you'd been in a "little accident in the taxi cab on the way to the theater." I was amazed that she refused to let those great tickets go to waste...so, on we went! What a trooper! Always so kind and sweet. I just loved Evie. And, am content knowing that she lived an extraordinary life surrounded by so much loving family. She is very lucky. And, is at peace now...probably cutting the rug in heaven with Stewart. Reunited with her love. How perfect. Sending love to you all, my friend. Ham

Sending condolences and warm thoughts from Oklahoma City. I have many happy and fond memories of Evie at her homes in Belmont and the Cape, and in the respective homes of her sister Dottie. Just as I, as the twin of Dottie's daughter-in-law, consider myself a pseudo daughter-in-law, I've always felt like family to Evie and could identify with her as the single sister for most of her life. She was such a strong woman to survive the early loss of her husband and the subsequent loss of dear close friends. Hugs to Sandie, Dannie and the rest of the family, Paula & Jess

It makes sense that Evie would quickly follow her dear sister, Dottie, in death. They spent a lifetime together, separated only by a driveway. I'll remember Evie's presence at my wedding in Oklahoma City, her daily 10 AM visits for coffee in West Falmouth, and her genuine concern about the welfare of my own sister, Paula, and her daughter. She will be missed, but will live on through her artwork including a personal needlepoint in my home and various pieces at our cape house. In retrospect and after losing Dottie so quickly, I feel for Dannie, Sandie, and Stewart in overseeing the slow demise of their mother. I have a clear memory of her, in a rare moment of clarity, saying to her sister in December 2016...."Where have you been?" when Dottie was absent from Belmont for awhile. Now, they are together for eternity.

Dear "MacDonald Clan",
Such wonderful and fun memories I have of growing up with you at the UP! Your mom/grandmother was so gracious and loving. When I married, we always thought of your parents as a dynamite couple for the Lord - always sharing with others us in the name and love of Christ - and in many cases that was their words of encouragement and kindness. They made a great impact on our lives.
Sending much love and praying for you all,
Mertie (Scribner) & Fred Potter

What lovely memories we have of this dear Sister in Christ! May God comfort you all and give you peace.
1Thessalonians 4:13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
With our love,
Jim and Anne

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Evie's family during this time of mixed emotions. Evie is now free from her earthly body and present her Lord and loved ones who have gone before her. Yet she will be so missed by you all. Evie was a beautiful lady, inside and out.
