FLORENCE AUDREY REIDY

REIDY, Florence Audrey (Hickey) Age 89, died on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loving children. Audrey was married for over 67 years to the love of her life, the late John David Reidy, Jr. Audrey was born June 28, 1936, in Wakefield, MA. Audrey was a graduate of St. Joseph School and Wakefield High School. She was also a graduate of Children's Hospital School of Nursing. After marriage and four children, she enrolled in Boston University's School of Nursing, earning a bachelor's degree. Along with having six children, Audrey earned her master's degree and became a licensed Nurse Practitioner. Audrey specialized initially in pediatrics and later geriatrics. Audrey was an instructor at Quincy School of Nursing and later as a nurse practitioner in Occupational Health Services at QMC. Audrey was mother to six children, grandmother of eighteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren: Jane A. Reidy, (the late) John David Reidy, III and his wife, Sandra, Kathryn M. Reidy, Kristin E. Lopez and her husband, Hector, James W. Reidy and his wife, Shantelle and Paul T. Reidy and his partner, Allison Laine. Audrey was a member of the Scituate Council on Aging. She was an active member in the Senior Center activities. She was an avid sports fan and dedicated supporter of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Her favorite place to be was the beach. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Sunday, September 14, at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St., COHASSET, from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 15, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Cudworth Cemetery, in Scituate.
