Frank Ayers Obituary

Age 83 suddenly of Venice, FL & Mashpee, formerly of Hingham, Dec. 1, 2007. Beloved husband of Marjorie (Kennedy) Ayers & the late Margaret (Barron) Ayers. Father of Margaret "Peg" Mullen of Hanover, & the late Frank P. Ayers, III. Father-in-law of Kathleen Stanton-Ayers of Hingham. Stepfather of Paul, Mark, Chris Timbone & Nancy Masvonek. Brother of Robert Ayers of Hingham, Dorothy Jacobson of Hingham, & the late Mary Demko. Grandfather of Kerri Kelleher of RI, Brian Ayers of South Boston, Kevin Mullen of South Boston, Michael Ayers of Hingham, & Steven Ayers of Hingham. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren. Funeral from the SOUTH WEYMOUTH McDonald Funeral Home, 809 Main St. (Rt 18 opp. South Shore Hospital), Monday at 9 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Paul's Church, Hingham Sq. at 10 o'clock. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 P.M. If you wish, donations in Frank's memory may be made to Schepens Eye Research Institute, 20 Saniford St., Boston, MA 02114.

Sincerest condolences to the Ayres family and to Dot, Jan, and Susan. I didn't become acquainted with Frank until he was nearing retirement, but I valued his friendship and was impressed with the obvious affection so many people felt for him. He was a fine gentleman and will be missed.
