Dr. Ehrlich was a respected teacher at the the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute, and he taught our class in the ATP many years ago. Some time afterward, I asked Fred if he would be willing to give a lecture on psychoanalytic work with families at an agency where I worked at the time. It was, of course, a big success. Fred began by asking, Why do we have children? The room was silent. Because it's FUN! The spontaneous and wide smile which accompanied his answer is memorable to this day.
My condolences to Dr. Ehrilch's family, with the wish that, in time, your memories will bring smiles.
