Papa,
You were my ROCK and I know that you will continue to be my Sunshine in the days to come. It was my absolute pleasure to be your sidekick right to the very end. I hope you and Nana are getting back to the Cribbage games up there! Until we meet again, rest easy and know that I Love You with all of my heart and will miss you more than words could ever say.

Fred was a good friend of all of us at the Union Sq station Eng 3 and Tower 1 his frequent visit to the station seemed to make his day a little bit brighter. We had Fred for supper on numerous occasions in the station, after He would say He never had a bad meal in the firehouse(I think He was just being kind.)One day we were talking about the weather and Fred said one of the coldest nights He had in the truck was on Columbia St. in Somerville at a fire in a couple of junk yards(If I remember it was about 5 degrees, snowing, with the wind blowing about 45 m.p.h.With Fred being Fred He stayed with us all nite till all the coffee and was gone,Fred said it took him about 3 days to thaw out after that.Fred was a true gentleman who was dedicated to all the Firefighters in the Boston area He tried to keep us from freezing in the winter and over heating in the summer. No one will ever do the job as good as Fred did He was a true Hall a Famer. R.I.P. my friend. Mark Wall (ret)Engine 3 S.F.D.

Great Uncle Freddy is the reason why I donate food & coffee to the local fire & police department on a weekly basis. I will always remember the 2000 (?) family reunion in NJ. Uncle Freddy & Aunt Myrtle were sitting in lawn chairs. We were located right next to a fire department. So, every time the engines would sound Uncle Freddy would shout "Myrt! Get the truck!" I will miss you very much Uncle Freddy.

How we loved to see Uncle Freddie come for a visit - he had a way of making all of us feel very special. He was kind and loving and funny and my mother simply adored him. He also taught us how to do for others - how to give of ourselves - thank you Uncle Freddie for the invaluable lesson. We so love and appreciate you - you will be missed but not forgotten. My love and heartfelt prayers go out to all who have known and loved him and especially to the rest of the family.
