The strength of Jeannie and the support of his children and family have helped all of them to get through this past year ... especially his mother! Keep watching over all of us , dear Gary . You are missed by so many. Peacefully , Francie

Having just learned of Gary's passing, my heart is beyond saddened. Gary was a friend during our four years at BC together - Jeannie and Merry as well. Kindness and gentleness best describe the person I knew then, along with his winning, athletic prowess and friendly demeanor. My love to Jeannie and their extended family together. RIP

It´s with great sorrow of the passing of Gary. He was an exceptional man and as a kid I always remember his infectious laugh. Gary was best friends with my oldest brother Joe Legere. All my brothers and sisters knew Gary and his family growing up.
I remember playing tag in our front yard down on Cedar Brook Road and loving it when Gary stopped by cause I knew we would be be having some fun. I was friendly with his sisters
Marianne and Rita as we were close in age. Gary´s passing will be of profound loss for his wife Jean and their children along with Gary´s 4 sisters. Heaven is a better place now that Gary is in heaven.

I knew Gary from `67-`71. Great guy, friend, & athlete. So sorry to hear of his loss. My thoughts go out to Jeannie & family.
I had the pleasure of knowing her, as I dated her sister Meredith. Although I lost contact as I returned to Cleveland, I never lost memories. Safe home Gary.

I want to express my condolences to Gary´s family and relatives.
Words alone cannot describe the impact that Gary had on everyone he came in contact with.
We both began our football officiating high school careers at the same time. Having been former players and dedicated to the game we understood how special this game was for players to develop character, loyalty and teamwork that would carry them throughout their lives. For those that know football, Gary is recognized as one of the great officials not only in this area but in the entire country. His father Frank "Boley" Dancewicz who starred at Notre Dame must have been especially proud on his son. As an assignor of officials in the greater Boston area, Gary would work some of the most important high school games for me when he was not doing his college schedule. Over several years, he helped me organize several all-day on-field clinics with his college buddies for beginning officials at a time when it was sorely needed. A day with Gary and his friends was an experience that they never forgot. I would often seek his counsel and he never let me down. Gary was part of a "Dream Team" of officials that I organized to do the local Agganis Football Classic games that featured promising all-star high school players. I especially enjoyed hosting the official´s post-game conference at a local 99.
The football world is a special place where a participant exposes every phase of who and what he truly is made of and where special life-long relationships are forged. Gary was exceptional in every way not just football and we are all better for having known him.

I spent a lot of my youth afternoons and sumner evenings as Gary´s sidekick. I will keep him in my thoughts and payers. Sorry I did not catch up with before he passed. A lasting memory for me was from a day that Jean and Gary joined my wife and I on a sailboat off Mystic CT in the 1980s. My condolences to Jean and family and my wish for Gary to rest in peace.
