GEORGE CAMERON Obituary

CAMERON, George W. Passed away, May 12, 2018 in Hudson FL. He was a devoted husband for over 55 years to his wife Katherine F. "Kay" (Mulkern) Cameron, who passed away last year. George and Kay were always together in their many adventures in Massachusetts, Maine, and Florida. George was a decorated Boston Firefighter and Arson Investigator, a Pressman at The Boston Globe, and a Selectman in Plymouth. He was happiest when joking with people or hosting parties and cooking way too much food for family, friends and fellow firemen. He enjoyed being outside, whether he was in the woods, in the water, or just soaking up the sun. George was an animal lover and couldn't resist helping any animal. He was a beloved father to George Cameron Jr., his wife Carol of East Aurora NY, Patricia (Tavares) Cameron of Hudson FL, and Eric Cameron of Tampa FL.Grandpa, aka "Coo-Coo" was so proud of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them and encouraging them. He was a devoted grandfather of Kristin, Jennifer, Brandi, Brittany, Eric, and Quinn. He was a loving great-grandfather of Kierra and Evan. George was a big brother to Robert, Edward, and David Cameron. Visiting hours in the O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, on Friday from 4-8 PM. Your dad was a very good friend and brother fireman of my brother Tommy...
They would talk on the phone reminiscing of the time they spent together as firemen and laughed about all the "fun" and mischef they would get in to.
After my brother passed unexpectedly your dad, and other firefighters, were so supportive. Although I did not know your dad personally..we shared many telephone conversations of him and my brother and the bond they had...
Now I hope they are together...in another world...laughing.

Worked with George at Engine 24 on Warren Street so many years ago. He was crazy as hell, had a huge heart, was a laugh a minute, and make no mistake, George was a terrific fireman. It was an absolute delight to be in his company. RIP, old friend.

George, you were the best. In whatever you did you did it to the fullest. We had many laughs in the Globe and you were always there to toss a bomb (especially at TM) or just there to talk and listen. You will be missed my friend and loved by many. RIP Brother.
