I subscribe to The Hellenic Voice and saw the obituary on George Georgeopoulos. I do not know him personally but I am curious as to where in Greece his father came from. Our original family, Philipopoulos, came from a village called Kaliani. Several brothers moved from there many years ago and settled in a village called Makri or Boleta. The latter being the Turkish name. I am doing a genealogy search and hope you can help me.
2 brothers changed their name to Petropulos and 2 to Georgeopoulos.
My dad, Peter Petropulos was born in Makri in 1899.
I'm sorry about the passing of your husband and father.
Thank you for your time and I'm sorry for your loss.

Please accept my sympathy to you and your family. Iknow the pain and loss you must be suffering having most recently losing my mother Toula Georgopoulos.
My name is George Georgopoulos and I'm from London, Ontario, Canada. My family is originally from Sparta, Greece and my Grandfather George Georgopoulos also had a brother Nick and Peter ( Lansing, Michigan) ... all deceased.
Your patera sounds like a great man who loved his family very much and in return you loved him back with great admiration and care.
Peace be with you and your family knowing that you have yet another angel looking over you.
- George Georgopoulos (London, Canada)
