GEORGE PAUL GIROMINI

GIROMINI, George Paul Goop Age 92, of Salem, Monday, March 10, 2014. Husband of Vera B. (Berg) Giromini, and the son of the late Oreste and Clara (Forgione) Giromini. Born in Boston, Goop was raised in Everett where he lived for thirty three years. He moved to Medford where he lived for forty years before moving to Salem where he lived for the past twenty years. He was a graduate of Everett High School, class of 1939. During the early 1940s he lived in Germany and France, while serving in the United States Army during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his heroic efforts. Later, he worked as a draftsman for General Electric, Aircraft Engines in Lynn. Most important to Goop were his two beloved grandchildren, Gregory Pal, and Jacquelyn Chickenella, and the time he was able to spend with them. He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and working crossword puzzles. Besides his wife Vera of 66 years, Goop is survived by his two daughters, Nancy Giromini and her husband Fred Stone of Salem, and Sheri Collier and her husband Bill of Swampscott, grandchildren Jacquelyn and Gregory Collier, both of Swampscott, niece Donna Giromini of Winthrop and nephew Paul Renzo Giromini. He was the father of the late George Paul Giromini Jr., and the brother of the late Renzo Giromini. His funeral will be held in the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street (Rt1A) LYNN on Friday at 10AM. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
