GEORGE F. KINTZ

KINTZ, George F. Age 71, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully, on July 30, with the support of family members by his side. George is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Marsha (Whitman) Kintz. He was the son of the late Mary (O'Malley) Kintz of Dorchester, who adopted him at birth. Later in life, George was able to connect with members of his birth family, including his birth mother, the late Eleanor Butler. Father of Brian Kintz and his wife, Karen, of Weymouth, Michael Kintz of Weymouth and his former wife, Monica, of Dighton and Robert Kintz and his wife, Laura, of Weymouth. Stepfather of Kevin Bickmore and his wife, Sharon, of Burke, VA, Julie Castle and her husband, John, of Burke, VA and the late Brian Bickmore. Brother of Janet Lund and her husband, Fred, of Winter Haven, FL, Lynda Bradley and her husband, Mike, of Taunton, Stephen Butler of Taunton and the late Robert Butler. He was a proud "Papa" to grandchildren, Brendan, Maya, Emily, Myles, Lydia, Paige, Addison, Alexandra, Jason and Courtney. Former husband to Anne Kintz, of Weymouth. He is also survived by other extended family members. George was very proud of his Dorchester roots, growing up in the St. William's parish. He attended Boston Latin High School and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston. He spent years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Abington. George was a gifted trumpet player throughout his life, performing in the St. William's band, the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps and their Senior Corps. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, August 10, from 4-7pm, at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, located at 373 Court St., in PLYMOUTH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 11, at 11am, at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 126 South Meadow Rd., also in Plymouth.
