in the winter of 1972 The Boston Crusaders almost disbanded. with incredible determination they where able to field a very small corps of only 17 horns for the 73 season and only 22 for 1974. we where in tuff shape . in the winter of 74/75 we where blessed with the joining of The Dirty Dot Boys. George was of course one of them. That turned everything around for the corps. By 1977/78 the corps was great and with Georges solos the hornline was back up to respectable size. time has gone by and we lost touch but he was always my Crusader brother. i have tremendous respect for him. he is a TRUE BLUE CRUSADER. My condolences to George´s family. I didn't know him as George. I knew him as "Skipper". he was my next door neighbor growing up in Dorchester. We were in St. Williams band together too. I can still hear him practicing the trumpet everyday through our windows next door. He was very talented.

I remember meeting George when the Senior Corps started as the Saders, back in 1991. What a blast getting to meet old and new friends and making new memories. I can't forget what a great Soprano line we had with George leading the firsts. May I extend my condolences to a great guy and his family. RIP GEORGE. You won't be forgotten. Best, Lesley MacDonald

George was a great guy and a great trumpet player. He had a huge sound with an incredible tone. So sorry for your loss.
