GERALDINE CASEY Obituary

CASEY, Geraldine (Redmond) Formerly of Plymouth, MA, passed away February 22, 2016 in Santa Fe, NM. "Gerry" as she was known, was born May 16, 1942 to Matthew and Pauline Redmond of New York. She grew up in Yonkers and worked as a legal secretary prior to marrying Edward Casey (deceased) of Boston, where she relocated following their marriage. She lived in Winchester and Marshfield before moving to Plymouth after his passing. Gerry attended Harvard University and Lesley University where she received a master's degree in mental health counseling. She then went on to private practice in Plymouth where she had a successful career as a marriage and family therapist for several decades. Gerry was also active in the Democratic party and served as a delegate to the Massachusetts State Convention in the 1980's, along with her husband. Gerry was always passionate about helping others and loved children and animals. In her later years, she developed a love of travel and made numerous trips to visit her family as well as several trips to exotic locations worldwide. Gerry was beautiful, elegant and a devoted wife, stepmother and grandmother. She was a fierce defender of those with no voice of their own. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by four children, William Casey of Incline Village, NV, Ginger Casey and husband Don McGrath of Santa Fe, NM, Glenn Casey and wife Alice of Georgetown, TX, and Valerie Scaglione and husband Michael of Auburn, CA, along with seven grandchildren & several cousins. A private memorial service will held at a later date.

So sorry to hear about Geraldine. She was beautiful. May you find comfort in knowing that God's Son felt the pain and sorrow that death brings after the death of his friend Lazarus. He gave way to tears. John 11:35 We weep along with you.

Gerry was beautiful...inside and out. Her soft spoken, kindhearted personality had a calming effect on our whole family. She was patient with our father, loving towards our children, and kind to everyone in her life (especially to her cats, that she loved so much). Gerry gave me trememdous support when I lost my mother to cancer. She was an easy person to talk to... she listened without judgment, and gave thougthful advice. I will always be grateful for her loving support.

We all loved Gerry. She was like part of our family. She is in our thoughts, memories and prayers.

Our deepest condolences to her family. She was a special one, for sure.
