I met Gerry in 1970 , when I was a member of the Society of Jesus ( Jesuits) in Jamaica.
Gerry pioneered housing for sugar workers and consolidated housing cooperatives in the island. He was also integral to important government housing initiatives that expanded the housing self ownership of humble Jamaicans.
Gerry was warm and generous and embraced the island's culture and people.
A fine and remarkable person. I was happy to greet him on a visit to the Jesuit community at Weston in November 2023.
