DR. GINO V. SEGRE

SEGRE, Dr. Gino V. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our cherished father, Gino V. Segre, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in Portland, Oregon. His lifetime career focused on the Massachusetts General Hospital's Endocrine Unit, teaching at Harvard University and his research lab. There was no separation between the person, the physician and the teacher. The combination of directness and warmth extended through every aspect of his being. It was not uncommon to find his students and Post Docs around the Thanksgiving table at the Segre household. Many were either from other countries and did not have familiarity with this holiday or they were unable to spend it with their own families. Life changes occurred for Gino and after many years of living in the suburbs around Boston, he moved to live a few blocks away from Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA. He was an avid researcher and his published works were well cited. His career advanced and he was elected as a member to the Association of American Physicians.
