RATTI, Gloria G. (Graceffa) Of Quincy, passed away on July 24, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Charles Ratti. Gloria is the last of her generation, she was predeceased by her parents John and Anna (Baio) Graceffa, and her siblings Philip, Anthony, Louis, Maria LaGrega, Joseph, Rose Callinan, Suzanne Moussalli, Angelo and Anna Cataldo. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, colleagues and friends. Gloria retired as Chief Clerk from the Central Intelligence Agency after forty years of dedicated service. She was a proud and feisty member of the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) serving as Vice President, Historian, Archivist and member of the Board of Governors for more than three decades. Gloria will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visiting Hours will be held in the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, on Tuesday, August 3, from 3:00 to 8:00pm. A celebration of Gloria's life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 4, at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment to follow at Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline. Gloria was a Heart of Gold for my Dad.In so many ways Gloria was always there.She would call him with questions,updates,you name it she would be there to guide him with whatever needs to be done.I'm sure she went up like a Rocket Ship to heaven last week.We will be unable to attend the services due to both Dads(Post Lyme Disease knee arthritis)but mainly due to a Total Knee Replacement I received last week.
Prayers to All the family as Gloria was like family to ALL.
There will be no other person like our beloved Gloria.

A HUMOROUS STORY AS TOLD BY GLORIA RATTI
Gloria was at the finish line of a local woman´s race many years ago. Ruth Rothfarb, the only participant in the 80-90 yr old category, finished last.
As Ruth crossed the finish line, Gloria yelled out "Ruth, pull up your stockings." Ruth responded "I´m not wearing any."

I am so sorry to see this - last talked with Gaba a few months ago. I worked with her in Boston for quite a few years and never lost contact. I remember going to Southie to her parents home, the house on the Cape - she was never at a loss for words, fun to be around and a good friend. RIP "Auntie Gaba".

I met Gloria and her late sidekick Marja Bakker in 1988 when we (New Bedford Half Marathon Committee) brought legendary Ingrid Kristiansen to Massachusetts to run our race and Boston. At her suggestion we volunteered to work the marathon, a tradition that has continued for 32 years. Always encouraging supportive and positive she choreographed a finish line crossing in the office for my daughter Lisa who´s run in 2013 was halted a mile from the finish. Thanks my friend. Rest in peace.

Gloria was one of a kind--not replaceable. Her love, energy, and support of Boston Marathon runners made her a favorite of everyone lucky enough to know her. I looked forward to seeing her every year, and followed her bustling instructions more closely than I followed others. She always wanted things to be just right--just as perfect as they could be. I will miss her greatly. The Boston Marathon is bigger than any individual, but it will be a bit smaller without Gloria.
