Gussie Alper

ALPER, Gussie (Axelrod) 96, of Winchester, formerly of Gloucester and Beverly, passed away on January 13, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Leo Alper, former Mayor of the City of Gloucester. Cherished mother of Paul (Charleen) Alper of Lexington and the late Robert Alper. Loving sister to many siblings who predeceased her. Adoring grandmother of Robin Alper of Los Angeles, CA and Joel (Lori) Alper of Bedford, MA. Devoted great grandmother of Gabriel, Jordan, and Max Alper, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 10AM at the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapels, 10 Vinnin St., SALEM/ SWAMPSCOTT line. Interment will be held at the Sons of Jacob Cemetery, Danvers. Memorial Observance will be held immediately following interment, at her son Paul's residence, until 9PM, Thursday from 2PM-4PM & 7PM- 9PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Robert C. Alper Fund at St. John's Preparatory School, 72 Spring St., Danvers, MA 01923.
