I was very saddened when I just read (Feb 9) of Harry's passing in the RPI alumni magazine. We were roomates at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy New York during our Junior and Senior years at Burdette Avenue Residence Hall (BARH) where he met his wife Maxine (Max). We both majored in physics but Harry decided to change majors for a year into technical writing but came back to physics and got his degree with us. Harry was always the philosophical one, always sitting on a trashcan at the end of the hallway (overlooking Max's wing) pontificating on every subject to whomever stopped to listen. He was very shy when it came to dating and had many failed experiences but when he met Max he came out of his shell and blossomed. I was ROTC and delayed my entry into Vietnam until 1972 while Harry was quickly drafted after graduation in 1968 and spent his time at Ft. Devins in MA. Our dorm was like a fraternity and we had many exciting adventures including a run into Vermont to buy a case of mixed liquor for everybody. Coming back along route 7 we saw what looked like a police roadblock ahead so I pulled a U-turn and Harry guided the four of us south thru MA before we felt safe enough to head back into Troy. Sadly Harry and I have not been in touch other than Christmas cards since we attended our 25th reunion. I sincerely regret that. Rest in Peace.
