DAMATO, Hector "Buddy" Buddy, as he was known to all, died peacefully, on February 13, 2023, in Florida, at the age of 75, with his wife, Susan Lubars, at his side. He is survived by his wife, Susan Lubars; stepchildren, Paul Dunn and his wife, Avital and Elissa Dunn; cousins, Madeline Brown, Max Brown, Alex Brown; and their families; and was proudly known as "nonno" by granddaughter, Olivia Dunn. Buddy was raised in Moss Hill, Jamaica Plain with kids who became lifelong friends. So sorry to hear of Buddy's passing. I tried to call him today, and the phone is "no longer in service". I knew something was not good. I was a RedSox fan along with him, and I used to take care of his Jeeps @ Hollywood Chrysler-Jeep. I miss him already. Blessings to Susan. Peace and God bless.

This song, from Chicago, will always remind me of Buddy. "It was a good time, it was the best time, it was a party, just to be near you..." This news is heartbreaking! The stories, endless.

Buddy was one of my closest friends for almost 30 years. The memories are flowing. We laughed most of the time. If I cried he would say, "Zappy, you´d better call one of your girlfriends on this one." I will cherish our friendship forever. RIP my dear friend-I will miss you.

There was no one like him. He was wonderful.

Sending love to all who knew him.

Adored and loved him.

Buddy had a calming and positive energy surrounding him. He was someone you could chat with over a glass of Chardonnay, without fear of judgment. He would always want to go the extra mile to help you out or have your back. A random moment that stands out in my mind is when buddy randomly passed Susan in the kitchen and told her "you are the most beautiful woman I´ve ever seen, Susan". I could feel the love. You will be sorely missed buddy, but your memory lives on.
