HORTENSE DEXTER Obituary

DEXTER, Hortense "Sis" (Rowley) Of Lexington, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021 at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife of Charlie and mother of Dean Dexter and his wife Jane of Woburn, Gail Trudel and her husband Steve of Woburn, Scott Dexter and his wife Cheryl of Brookline, NH and Sally Dockham and her husband Gary of Methuen. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Louise R. Newton of North Carolina. She is survived by her dear cousin, Gloria Strain of South Dartmouth. A private service will be held for both Sis and Charlie Dexter at Newton Cemetery in the springtime. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sis' memory to the Alzheimer's Association.

Sis was a mainstay of FISH of Lexington for a good many years through her service on the board and as a driver. It was a privilege for me to have served on the board with her and I will always remember the quality of her contributions, her warmth, and her contagious laugh! A memorable woman in all respects.
