I am so sorry to learn of Indra´s passing. I had worked almost a decade with her at Mass Eye and Ear´s Vision Rehab Center.
Most importantly, Indra was very supportive when my husband and I adopted an Indian child whose birth mom was living and going to college in Boston and therefore not ready to be a mother. We talked a lot together about Indian culture and I had some lovely meals together with Indra and fellow MEEI colleagues. May she rest in peace.

Mohindra was a spectacular contributor to the knowledge of infant vision. She became a great friend and I was proud to be the first clinician to use her system for babies and developed the first application for use with the mentally disabled . She was truly the greatest mind of the 20 th century in this discipline !

She was a colleague whom I admired more than words can say and we became great friends! I was proud to be the first person to use her work with others at MIT. And developed applications of their infant work for mentally disabled people involving so many. She was really something and a marvel to learn from.

Indra was a dear friend and colleague who was a great lecturer and researcher at MIT. Her contributions to understand the vision functions and how to test for them there led the world. She directed the Infant Evaluation study using forced preferential acuity technique and created the Mohindra Retinoscopy to accurately identify refractive errors in children. I had the honor to be the first to utilize these applications. I had years of great outcomes thanks to Dr. Mohindra and her amazing team.
I was talking with our daughter about her and decided to get back in touch. I sadly read of her demise which was heartbreaking to me.

I had the privilege of working with Indra for nearly a decade at Mass Eye and Infirmary´s low vision clinic in the 1990´d and early 2000´s. I was the SW on the rehab team. Indra was so helpful to me as my husband and I had adopted an Indian child and wanted to know about Indian culture so our son would be aware of it as he grew up. Indra was a lovely woman and I am richer for having known her. I am sending my condolences to her family and friends.
