Irving Cooper Obituary

COOPER, Dr. Irving Age 90, of Newton on Friday, January 28, 2011. For 63 years he was the beloved husband of Adele (Bardfield). Loving father of Libby Cooper, JoAnne Cooper and Susi Cooper, all of Newton. Dear brother of Pearl Black, Dr. Saul Cooper, Lee Ann Hirsch, and the late Herbert Cooper. A graduate of Boston Latin School, Harvard College and Middlesex Medical School, he was a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and the American Society of Contemporary Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Cooper was a General Practitioner in Dorchester and the Brook House in Brookline for many years. He developed a successful smoking cessation program for which he received a worldwide patent and did clinical research for Ciba/Geigy for drugs currently used. Services at The Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, BROOKLINE on Sunday, January 30 at 12:30pm. Interment at Mishkan Tefila Memorial Park, Centre Street, West Roxbury. Following the burial, family and friends are welcome to the late residence through 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Beacon Hospice, 160 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701 Levine Chapels, Brookline 617-277-8300

Thank you for all your help and freindship over the years , Irv ! You were like a father to me , and for that I am greatful.
