I knew Jim at Royal. When visiting my family I always took the time to say hello and make sure he was holding down the fort. I went looking for him today and learned of his passing. He was a gentleman. My sincere condolences to all that loved him.

In fond memory of Officer James (Jim/Jimmy) Curtis an accomplished Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) Police Officer with the highest standards of professionalism and pride in his services to Boston, the public and his fellow officers.

An avid sports enthusiasts and NASCAR fan as well as an accomplished jokester, Jimmy often held court with his Police friends and partners on an every day basis.

When responding to Incidents throughout the BPHC service area officers looked to Jimmy's leadership qualities for guidance and direction in mitigating and resolving problems, big or small.

His respectful and talented services were attributes his fellow officers, clients and employees of the BPHC both looked up to and admired on an every day basis.

It goes without saying Jimmy's legacy will be remembered and admired by many who are incredibly saddened by his loss. We pledge to remember him as he lived, a wonderfully talented, brave and admired man, a best friend and a beloved fellow Police Officer.
